Artboard 1

For the first time ever, for a measly $1,000,000

You mere mortals get to step into MY world and see how I see the dance, music and culture to totally slay beats and destroy toys …

MUHAHAHA-

Artboard 5

If you’re here, it’s because you want to know the secrets to how I start the body rock and then tap into the hypnotic... to how I freak the beat and make everyone jump out of their seat

Artboard 6

And I want to show you how you can tap into that flow state where it feels like you’re channeling a higher power, by thinking music first.

BTW my alter ego wasn’t completely off base … my new course is going to get real personal and open up a lot how I approach the dance (except it’s not a million dollars – don’t worry 😏it’s actually only $349).

Introducing…

MOVE LIKE MUSIC

A lot of people who get into breaking simply don’t have the same access to knowledge that I did.

After all, not many can count Rock Steady Crew as their mentors, or have a chance to grow up in the rich music culture of Philly, like I did.

And not a lot of people have studied the culture the way I have.

So you can expect this course to be nothing BUT the most important fundamentals that you need to know.

Whether you want to able to:

Play with the music and hit rhythms and sounds that no one else notices…

Show the audience what you hear in the music, transmuting music into movement like magic…

Or just be swimming, completely free in the music…

Move Like Music distills almost 30 years of studying the dance into a simple road map to go beyond being “on beat” to becoming the music.

Focus and I spent a week in Finland filming this course, going back and forth on how to make this course one of the best courses the Dojo has ever seen.

Here’s the end result of all that work:

Module 1: Toprock

This section breaks down the core steps and mechanics behind toprock: what to do, how to give it that proper “breaking look”, and how to find your own voice in it. I also get into the most important fundamentals of musicality.

These are the simplest things to start drilling and get results right away.

After finishing this section, you’ll learn:

  • How to perfect the 2 cardinal grooves of breaking
  • What to do when the DJ plays a fast BPM song (and flow with even MORE feeling in your dance)
  • How I hit accents and “catch those snares” even when the beat is syncopated
  • 2 social dances that’ll add more richness to your tops
  • The subtle detail that differentiates between a real b-boy or b-girl vs someone who just likes dancing up top – that will also make your breaking more powerful
  • How to think of “angles” to amplify your dance and look less flat
  • An exercise to challenge your creativity and generate countless toprock variations
  • How to break up the “patterns” and “rules” we’re used to in breaking to avoid looking predictable or bland
  • Why there are two different toprock steps with the same name
  • What to do with your hands while you’re dancing… and what NOT to do (unless you want to look like an ignoramus)
  • How to use your toprock to generate momentum into your biggest moves

Module 2: Musicality

Here we get more conceptual and dive deeper into music theory. In case you didn’t know, I played saxophone as a kid, which has influenced how I approach musicality in the dance.

Once you add these concepts into your tops, you’re really going to be catching ghost every time you enter the circle.

This section will teach you:

  • The 1st Rule to immersing yourself in the music
  • How to find “the one” every single time using a specific rule that DJ’s follow whenever they loop the break
  • The “jazz” approach to rhythm
  • And how to find your own style of rhythm
  • The art of telling stories without literally “miming” the lyrics (using a principle that I learned from the Twinz and other OGs)
  • How to know EXACTLY when in the song to hit the ground level
  • The danger with starting off your round with a big move
  • How to connect with music you DON’T like
  • The relationship between the Body Rock and the Hypnotic (that flow state, that feeling of being connected to a higher power in your dance)

Module 3: Transitions

Now to take everything we’ve learned to the floor. After this section, you’ll be dancing through your whole run, not just on top.

You’ll learn:

  • My philosophy of connecting seamlessly between the top and ground level without a big “wind up”
  • The secret level change that no one really tells you about … but unlocks so much more dynamics in your breaking
  • The details behind the 3 most important transitions that will let you catch the beat every time without having to stop and reset
  • How to use the sweep as a move, a transition into footwork & power, to continue your flow, or even to help you fly into the air

And for the cherry on top, you’ll also get my bonus video Intention is Everything which breaks down the core of my philosophy to breaking and to life.

As you can see, this isn’t something you can find just by searching “how to be musical bboy tutorial” on Youtube …

This is the real deal: a complete education in beat-slaying musicality that’ll make your opponents look embarrassingly basic once they start 2-stepping.

And this course overcomes the biggest challenge that even I face when teaching a workshop: you can’t get through everything you need to teach before the hour is already over!

To be honest, I’d have to spend at least a full day just to share all these concepts with you.

And after that day was over, you’d probably forget 80% of it.

But with this course, you get to take your time with each concept and properly master it.

There’ll be no one kicking you out of the studio cutting the lesson short. No waiting for the next time I’m in town.

Now if that all sounds good to you, all you gotta do is click below to join now.

Some FAQs

Will I get to learn all the different toprock steps?

I’ve always been a big believer of it’s not what you do, but how. And that means doing it on the music. Let the music guide you. Master the steps you know. And build your own variations using the creativity exercise I provide. You are enough, but you gotta put in that work to make “you” shine through. So, no. This is not a YouTube tutorial that shows you 25 different steps.

What happened to the Listening Bar Experience Bonus?

If you’re reading this, then that means you missed out on the bonus offer… I’ll be posting a link to buy tickets soon once I’ve confirmed the date.

But what if I’ve already taken a workshop on musicality and rhythm with even a DJ explaining the basics … will this course still teach me anything new?

Let me just ask you: when the music drops, whose dancing do you like better? Theirs… or mine? 😏

In all seriousness, make sure you read this page carefully before buying so you know what to expect. And also be humble enough to know that no one gets everything on the first time around. Sometimes you gotta visit the same block a few times before you get the lay of the land.
