It’s called a “listening bar”.
Side note: if you don’t know Skeme Richards, aka the Nostalgia King, aka the Heavy Funk 45 slinger… then just know he is the world’s funkiest DJ (and part of Rock Steady).
While Skeme was doing a gig in Tokyo, he got invited to this exclusive bar.
It was in a secret alley in the basement of a plain-jane apartment building, but the inside was like James Bond-007 sleek with burgundy velvet everywhere and $12000 speakers. They served him a flight of whisky, alongside a curated playlist of records that paired with each drink. Plus insightful commentary on why that pairing.
