My First Ever Battle – The 90s vs Today

Today we’re going down memory lane to my first ever battle in 1999.

Up until that battle, there hadn’t been a real organized battle in years! Everyone was hungry.

But then on December 12th, 1999, Helsinki Battle was going down.

So me and my crew, Midpoint Rockers, we took a bus up to Helsinki for what would be my first ever battle competition.

In today’s Knowledge Drop, we revisit some old VHS footage of that battle.

You’ll get to see the differences between battling back then and now, including what was dope about that era, and what I think changed for the better.

You’ll also learn what it was like to break back in the 90s in Finland, before the breaking scene became what it is today.
