The Day I Battled B-Boy Lamine, the 90s French King of Flow

It’s not everyday that you get to battle the people that you look up to, and it can be nerve-wracking. I had only ever seen Lamine in VHS tapes, and spent a lot of hours rewinding the tapes back and forth to study his flow.

Fast forward to 2011, I finally met Lamine – in the semi-finals of Hip Opsession.

Here’s how it went down inside my head, and I share how I was able to not let my fear get the better of me in that battle.
